• 1.8MM EDGES
  

  Used on 99% of our skis, the 1.8mm hardened steel edges are strong and dependable.
• BALSA/FLAX
  

  Balsa is an exceptionally light hardwood. Laminated vertically together divided by strips of woven flax (also known as linseed), to provide additional torsional and compression strength. Lighter than Poplar/Ash but more expensive.
• DIE-CUT PTEX 4000
  

  Used on most of our skis. Sintered PTEX 4000 base material is more porous and holds wax better.
• FIBREGLASS
  

  Laminates such as fbreglass or carbon-fbre are used to compliment the properties of the core material by increasing torsional strength, edge-grip and rebound.
• MATTE EC4060 TOPSHEET
  

  Matte EC4060 topsheets require no lacquering saving around 100gm / pair, and reduces the use of not-quite-environmentally friendly lacquer. It also shows through the natural structure of the underlying laminate layers.
• ONE-PIECE PHENOL PLATES
  

  Used on our Agent & Candide Thovex series, phenol is a hard plastic material that secures the binding screws. The one-piece design fits most touring bindings with centre screws.
• SANDWICH CONSTRUCTION
  

  Used on most of our skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
• SILKSCREEN PRINTING
  

  Used on 90% of our skis, silkscreen printing provides bright, strong colours that help our skis pop off the walls in-store. Unlike the sublimation process used by many of our competitors, very little waste is created using this method, and water-based inks are used to reduce environmental impact.
• TIP & TAIL ROCKER
  

  Tip & tail rocker with varying amounts of camber underfoot gives maximum versatility and float off-piste.

Faction and the legendary Frenchman gave the popular Candide 3.0 a makeover this year, in the form of a slimmer waist width—down to 108 mm from 112—a tighter turn radius and a narrower shovel. A substantial amount of tip rocker and a bit in the tail keeps the ski playful for nose butters and big tricks, while a touch of camber underfoot ensures stability on the hardpack. These planks won’t make you ski like Candide, but it’s about as close as you’ll ever get.
